About Simon

Simon Jenner’s education began when he left school with virtually no qualifications. And learned to fly instead. Discovering poetry though was dangerous: and forestalled a career in airframes and engines. He took a PhD at Cambridge in Oxford Poetry of the 1940s: having failed ‘O’ Level English Literature twice.

My picks

  • Chiara Atik “Poor Clare “, Orange Tree, Richmond

  • “The Merry Wives of Windsor” Shakespeare’s Globe

  • Shaan Sahota “The Estate ” National Theatre, Dorfman
